The Director of Racing has issued a statement regarding the immediate future of northern Tasmanian harness racing identities Ben and Tim Yole.
The statement issued by Robin Thompson on Tuesday, October 8 states: “The Director of Racing has considered the responses received from Ben Yole and Tim Yole to the show cause notices issued to them on 1 October 2024.
“The Director has made a determination to suspend both their harness training and driving licences until the Independent Stewards Panel makes its determination with respect to the charges issued.
“No further comment will be made as these matters remain the subject of legal processes.”
Both are facing allegations of race fixing and animal cruelty, raised by racing integrity specialist Ray Murrihy in his report.
