Police are investigating the cause of a fatal crash on the Bass Highway near Ulverstone on Thursday, in which a 68 year-old Penguin man died.
The man was a passenger in one of the two cars involved in the crash.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene just before noon following reports of a two-car collision.
The man was treated by paramedics, but died at the scene.
Two other people, a driver and a passenger, were taken to the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Bass Highway was closed for around four hours while the scene was cleared, with traffic being diverted through South Road.
Police say the investigation is on-going and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
