TT-Line board chair Mike Grainger has sacked by the State Government.

It said the relationship between the Government and Mr Grainger had become untenable.

The move came after Mr Grainger issued a statement on Wednesday afternoon disputing evidence presented to the Parliamentary Accounts Committee hearing into delays with the Spirit of Tasmania replacement vessels and associated port infrastructure in Devonport, being chaired by Murchison Independent MLC Ruth Forrest.

TasPorts and TT-Line are blaming each other for delays to the $350 million Quaylink Port of Devonport redevelopment, which includes a new terminal and berth for the new ships at East No. 3 Berth.

The Government says with the departure of Mr Grainger, it’s now confident the project can move forward collaboratively in partnership with TT-Line, TasPorts and the Department of State Growth.
