A 51 year old Mangalore woman behind the wheel for a random breath test produced a reading of .255 at Cleveland southeast of Longford.

The woman was intercepted by Tasmania Police on the Midland Highway at around 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

Acting Inspector Martin Parker said driving while under the influence of alcohol was unacceptable.

“This driver was more than 5 times the legal limit, and put not only herself in danger, but other road users,” he said.

“Our members will continue to conduct random breath tests to ensure all motorists can use our roads safely.”
