TasWater says it’s about a third of the way to completing an upgrade project to halve the amount of stormwater and sewage that overflows into the Tamar River.
Residents would have noticed themed artwork on shipping containers on Paterson Street, installed as a sound barrier as a pneumatic hammer works to drive a pipe 40 metres beneath the river.
We’re told the worst of the noise will be over in about a week’s time.

The new three kilometre section of pipeline between Margaret Street street and the Ti Tree Bend treatment plant at Invermay is set to be in place by next year.
